My situation and needs

My name is Laurin and I am 9 years old. At the age of three, I had severe meningococcal sepsis. As a result, I lost both my lower legs and parts of my hands. I am full of energy and love being active – snowboarding, biking, bouldering, or playing floorball. These activities are important to me. They allow me to spend time with my friends and have fun. I am very creative when it comes to finding solutions, but sometimes it's just easier with an aid. For hockey, I needed a solution that would allow me to move the stick quickly back and forth. At the same time, I wanted to be able to put on and take off such an aid independently.

How I experience activities differently now

It is important to me that the aids are easy to use and that I can use them independently. The Lynk system gives me a lot of independence. It is comfortable and I can use it in many different ways. Now I can hit the ball better when playing table tennis, play for longer, and move even more nimbly than before when playing floorball.

My experience after 3 months of use

I've been using the Lynk system for three months and am having a lot of fun! It's easy and simple to use. For example, I can now hold my hockey stick much better. This makes the game even more enjoyable. Being able to use everything independently and without assistance gives me a great sense of independence.

What is the Lynk System?

This modular and functional orthosis was developed for people who have limited grip function or need to protect their wrist. It is particularly helpful that it is very easy to use—the magnetic closure makes it easy to put on and take off. In addition, the orthosis is very light, weighing less than 250 grams. Furthermore, both professionals and users can use the aid very flexibly. Thanks to the standard sizes, the system is available immediately. If necessary, it can also be offered as a custom-made product.
