My situation and needs

My name is Leonid, I am four years old, and I was born with a congenital limb deficiency. I love everything that moves. I started riding a scooter at a very young age, but for a balance bike and a bicycle I needed an aid to be able to hold the handlebar safely. At the medical supply store, macu4 was recommended to us, and I received the Explorer System with the Bike Module.

How I experience activities differently now

Since I have had the Explorer System, I have been riding my balance bike and bicycle with great enthusiasm. Shortly before my third birthday, I learned how to ride a bike, and since then I ride confidently and with joy. By now, I am using a larger bicycle and manage very well with it. I can put on my prosthesis independently and connect myself to the handlebar on my own. When getting off the bike, I release it again. Even if I fall, the connection releases easily without anything happening. This gives me a lot of safety and confidence while riding.

My experience after 2 years of use

I ride my bike very often and like to use it in everyday life. The Bike Module allows me to ride completely independently, without feeling restricted. My prosthesis is lightweight, comfortable, and very stable. It works reliably, even when I ride a lot and ride energetically. That is why I would recommend the Explorer System with the Bike Module to all children who enjoy being on two wheels and want to feel safe and free while riding.

What is the Explorer System?

This modular and functional prosthesis was developed for people who have lost their grip function. It is particularly helpful because it is very easy to use—the lacing system-based closure makes it easy to put on and take off. In addition, the prosthesis is very light, weighing less than 350 grams. Furthermore, both specialists and users can use the aid very flexibly. If necessary, it can also be offered as a custom-made product.
