My situation and needs

My name is Monika, I was born in 1950 and live in Einsiedeln. I was born with a shortened left forearm, but have always managed my life independently. As I got older, I noticed discomfort due to the uneven strain, which motivated me to look for a solution. By chance, my search coincided with the emergence of 3D printing technology, which revolutionized the orthopedic scene. So I became a test subject and eventually ended up at macu4—at the right time, in the right place.

How I experience activities differently now

Before using the macu4 Explorer system, I found it difficult to maintain good posture and overused my right arm when doing tasks such as cooking or exercising. With macu4, I can now easily hold containers, chop herbs, or use household tools. My balance has improved significantly when doing activities such as walking, spinning, and Zumba. The aids provide better posture and control, allowing me to move more smoothly and comfortably.

My experience after 2 years of use

After more than two years of using the macu4 system, I have noticed a significant improvement in my health and fitness. The devices are robust, easy to use, and fit perfectly into my everyday life. My posture has improved, and I can now do activities that used to be difficult for me. The system is a reliable solution that helps me stay active and pain-free.

What is the Explorer System?

This modular and functional prosthesis was developed for people who have lost their grip function. It is particularly helpful because it is very easy to use—the lacing system-based closure makes it easy to put on and take off. In addition, the prosthesis is very light, weighing less than 350 grams. Furthermore, both specialists and users can use the aid very flexibly. If necessary, it can also be offered as a custom-made product.
