My situation and needs

I was born in 2001 without a left hand; my left arm ends at the wrist. This was never a big problem, as I always found solutions for my activities. A prosthesis was not an option for me for a long time, until I was able to try a myoprosthesis from an orthopedist in 2016, which has been helping me with gripping and holding ever since. Recently, I became more interested in fitness, especially balanced training at the gym, but couldn't find a suitable solution because my myoprosthesis is expensive and not suitable for sports.

How I experience activities differently now

I came into contact with macu4 by chance through my orthopedic technician. Together, we developed a training module that is specifically suited to fitness training. It provides the necessary support to strengthen my left side in a targeted manner and enables balanced training on both sides. The module helps me to use fitness equipment safely and allows me to train evenly for the first time. Thanks to this solution, I can finally train with my friends at the gym.

My experience after 1 year of use

I have been using the system since 2023. Thanks to the Explorer System, I have been able to rebuild and strengthen the muscles on both sides of my back, which helps me avoid poor posture. The system is lightweight and can be easily attached to various fitness equipment, giving me flexibility in my training. The breathable shaft ensures that my forearm doesn't sweat as quickly, which makes training pleasant and comfortable and allows me to train for longer.

What is the Explorer System?

This modular and functional prosthesis was developed for people who have lost their grip function. It is particularly helpful because it is very easy to use—the lacing system-based closure makes it easy to put on and take off. In addition, the prosthesis is very light, weighing less than 350 grams. Furthermore, both specialists and users can use the aid very flexibly. If necessary, it can also be offered as a custom-made product.
