My name is Wanda, I am 33 years old and was born with dysmelia of the right forearm. For a long time, I did not use a prosthesis, which meant I overused my left hand, eventually leading to joint problems. Shortly after I started using a myoelectric prosthesis, I developed chronic skin eczema. This forced me to look for alternatives – and that's how I discovered the Explorer System. I use it mainly for sports, especially cycling. Thanks to the breathable Explorer socket, my arm sweats less and my eczema has improved significantly.

It is important to me that my skin is not put under too much strain, as I suffer from chronic inflammation of the skin. My prosthesis is breathable and lightweight, so that the skin on my arm is less stressed and can breathe. This means I no longer have to worry about pain. It also supports me during sporting activities on my bike, ensures good posture, and relieves strain on my left hand.

I have been using the system since the end of 2023. My skin has healed much better thanks to the breathable shaft design. I can now enjoy long bike rides without discomfort.

This modular and functional prosthesis was developed for people who have lost their grip function. It is particularly helpful because it is very easy to use—the lacing system-based closure makes it easy to put on and take off. In addition, the prosthesis is very light, weighing less than 350 grams. Furthermore, both specialists and users can use the aid very flexibly.
